Katie Barnett has over two decades of experience leading successful teams, building authentic, productive relationships, and delivering meaningful results.
In her role as Associate Director of Programs at TSNE (formerly Third Sector New England), Katie led the consulting team in delivering organizational development, human resources, and executive search services to nonprofit organizations.
Prior to TSNE, from 2007-2017, Katie worked at the Social Innovation Forum, where her many roles and responsibilities provided valuable experiences in nonprofit management, consulting, philanthropy, and fundraising.
Katie brings consulting experience from McKinsey & Co., Bridgespan, and Root Cause. In addition to consulting, Katie worked in development at the Harvard School of Public Health and managed the Nonprofit Initiative at the Business Council of Southwest Connecticut. She has also worked in government settings, including the Corporation for National and Community Service.
Katie has a deep interest in advancing social and economic justice. In 2018, she completed VISIONS, Inc.’s PACE (Personal Approach to Change and Equity) Level I workshop, building skills in communication across difference and creating inclusive environments.
Katie received a BA in History from Yale College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management, where she focused on nonprofit management and strategy. While at Yale, Katie volunteered in the New Haven Public Schools and with Connecticut Voices for Children. She also helped to renovate and open the Connecticut Children’s Museum.
Katie is an active volunteer at First Parish in Needham, Unitarian Universalist, and with several nonprofit organizations, including ExchangeNation, the Wily Network, and the Boston Ujima Project. Katie lives in Needham, Massachusetts with her husband and two teenaged sons.
